Knoptop - www.youtube.com Here is a cheap mobile phone telephoto lens adapter that fits onto the kodak zi8! (and other similar cameras) The lens allows you to achieve a depth of field with your fixed-focus camera. As you will see in the sample video, the lens cuts down the light dramatically. For best results use the lens adapter in bright daylight !! To find your own lens, do a web search for: "cell phone telescope lens" **I will note that this specific model is very cheaply made mostly plastic components. I'm guessing the other versions that you may come across will have the same plastic, cheap design. Though these items retailed for $30-$50 dollars when first released.. you should have no trouble finding one online for around $10-15. I would recommend not paying more then $20 due to their plastic and cheap design. But, with all that said, these lenses' are a fast, cheap way to achieve a higher quality look from your pocket video camera! Thanks for watching!! @Knoptop Ahhh okay. I was thinking about that too. I figured thats probably how you did it. Thank you for confirmation. I’m working on a pretty cool PVC jib crane. I think you’ll be interested in it. We’re kind of along the same lines – quality stuff for….low cost. Getting good shots and video doesnt always require the top dollar items. They’d be nice to have but………. LOL
When I use mine, I adjust the bracket to line up for the camera lens with the lens removed, then twist it after it’s lined up. I’m interested to see if you can get some use out of it!
