Ok just an update. I cleaned the mirror like he did i put a towe in the sink because i didnt have a rack like him. I used some soap like he did and cleaned the mirror exactly like he did. My mirror was full of some wierd dried up sticky dew and crap. After i rinsed the mirror off it was super shiny again. Altho i noticed some small streak scratchs on on side of the mirror going down. Im not sure if its because i put my fingers on it. Or the mirror was like that when i got it 3 months ago.
However the mirror is super shiny now. I suggest using distilledwater afterwords tho. City water has clorine and stuff in it and after i set my mirror to dry i tried to get all the water spots off by dabbin a tissue on them but i have like 15 water spots on the mirror. So im going to use distilled water next time.
Thanks ive been thinking of cleaning my 10″ mirror. I looked down one day and saw crap all over it it looked like dust, but after taking it off it wasnt dust but in fact some smeary gunk thats looks alot like dust. I think its dew that collected with dust on the mirror and dried. Hopefully i wont damage my mirror by cleaning it in the sink like you did. Or id cry lol. I was thinking of submerging in it water with dawn, and letting it sit for while then rinse with distilled water.
Great instruction, thanks!I hope it doesn`t matter if the mirror is Pyrex, BK-7, Float or something similar.I gonna clean my mirror this week, i`m still excited.
dude, don`t u find it dangerous cleaning a telescope mirror?..`cause telescopes mirrors are covered with chemicals, and u can wash them off..?
bom o video…tenho um refletor de 350mm big mount
This is a good video. I recently purchased a second hand 10 inch dob and the mirror needs cleaned. Kind of nervous first time cleaning a mirror. Keep the good videos comin.
One more thanks. Great video. Now I feel more confident on cleaning the mirror of a second hand scope I just picked up. Smaller than this one, but I still didn’t want to destroy the mirror. And yes there are many anal opinions out there.
This is a good video…I tried to do the same but found that i couldn’t wash it in water (long story)So i got some nail polish remover and some cotton balls and they worked wonders. Totally cleaned the mirror and i can’t remember where i read ammonium is excellent for cleaning telescope mirrors. And what d’uno nail polish remover has ammonium in it
Hey thanks, I was going to clean my dusty, little, 10-year-old, 4.5″ mirror. I was imagining cleaning it just how you described but was not sure if I would destroy it or what. It would not be a huge deal if I did it’s only 114mm, but you have given me the confidence to proceed. So many people on the web are so anal and complex in describing how to clean a mirror. I like simple. Though, I think I will use distilled water for the final rinse as my tap water sucks.
Also I would play with my airbrush more but its soo much effort to clean it… *sigh* I'm not really an artist I just pretend
dont know dont care
“The process could be bad news for existing planets. The addition of gas and dust could impart enough friction to knock them out of orbit, and perhaps even into the star, says Perets.
Mario Livio of the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, agrees that planets likely form around evolved stars. “Given that the process of planet formation is rather poorly understood, it would be very interesting to determine observationally whether some of the scenarios described here indeed materialise in nature,” he told New Scientist. “The detection or non-detection of such planets could serve to place constraints on theoretical models.”"
you wathed to many sci fi horrors dude you writing such crap that I dont know either laugh or cry. Dark matter is not evil. You wathed wrong vid which they use words that dark matter will destroy universe lol you get that to serious
Nobody is making experiments on dark matter so nobody knows what it is exactly. Only they discovered that something is filling space but its particles not some evil force :/
Anddddddddddddd…. BUMP
It’s November, BITCH.
great song, but it’s such a shame that it had to be wasted away on such a bad game. i just hope that they get it right in the sequel.

Use low power. 50 to 100 power. Saturn looks great at 100 power. The Moon and many galaxies, nebulae and star clusters look great at 50 power. Higher power just makes it harder to find things and focus clearly. Oh, and the guy above is right about the dark sky. Except for a few exceptions, all those "deep sky" objects, especially galaxies, are really dim and cannot be seen well (or maybe cannot be seen at all) in the bright sky of a large city, no matter how good your telescope. The Moon and planets are different. They are bright and look fine in even the brightest city sky.
Learn the sky. Know at least a few bright constellations and stars. You have to know where to point it to see anything.
Best thing to do is to charge hourly. Then you can be safe to know that you will get paid for all of your hard work.
thanks for a very clear demo, hoping to get a nexstar SE for christmas, fingers crossed that Santa brings one this year!
no prob man, really enjoyed it. I am close to 1/2 way through Clean Code myself, and have learned a lot already.

“The moon missions were based on Newtonian science. The Hubble has revealed to the eye a cosmos that is far more poetic, mysterious, and fluid.”
Always useful to shift our perspective.
LMFAO. My dog is all clean, again!

Yes, BUBBLE WRAP and tape it well. Send it insured. BOX?
Although you didn't specify the dimensions, there are two USPS Priority Mail Boxes that should work:
6" x 38" long"
6" x 25" long:
Yes, you will have to order a minimum of 10, but they are FREE and the post office will deliver them to your doorstep FREE. You won't find these boxes at most post offices. Sign up for FREE at the USPS website. It will take about a week for delivery.
Get a new mirror cut to cover old crummy one. Use a plywood or foamboard to gauge correct size. Build up old if neccessary & contact cement new one in place. Otherwise do the hammer thang.
i would like one of these to bring on a 4 month camping trip.
bye bye MJ
A love song from a wonder lady…over there,quiet in the darkness……shhh

This frame, from a delightfully outdated single girl’s guide to dating from 1938, shows just how far we’ve all come. That’s right, women now have their own visor-mounted mirror to fiddle with their makeup while the men do the driving.

Your telescope has a focal length, or a distance from the front lens to the place where the image is focused. Find out what that length is — it may be marked on the scope or it may appear in the owner's manual.
Divide the focal length by the eyepiece measurement. This will give you the power of the scope.
So, for instance, if you have a 1000mm focal length telescope, using the 25mm eyepiece, you'll be magnifying things 40 times (1000/25=40). Using the 4mm eyepiece, you'll be magnifying 250 times (100/4=250). Again, this is dependent upon your focal length.
More magnification is often not better. Usually it means less light, more distortion, and a telescope that's tougher to point accurately. A 25mm eyepiece is a good general eyepiece. I usually don't use more than a 9mm eyepiece with my 2000mm focal length telescope.
And <3 back at you… see how it works when positivity is reflected in a mirror? Keeps gettin stronger
Sorry for your troubles. One part bleach to 30 parts water kills the virus in your yard and washable surfaces. Animal Health is a company that sells a product called Kennel Care that has been proven to kill the virus and can safely be used on carpets and furniture. It is reasonably priced. May the end of this year grant you good fortune. Their # is 1-800-424-7536
if its just the glass your after then it wont be much of a difference in price to go to a main vauxhall dealer and get one
even the men are screaming and crying out his name.. he’s really great!! i love him so!!! :[
The best kind of wins, brighter Formula One drivers like Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda used to say, are those achieved when driving as slowly as possible. For the best part of an hour Villa pootled disinterestedly along, like a Ferrari keeping pace with a Mini. Then they yawned, glanced in the rear view mirror, and accelerated into the distance. There were few signs of the mayhem to come during a first half in which Burnley’s game-plan seemed to be working solidly enough. They took the lead when Steven Fletcher turned in David Nugent’s low centre, and though they conceded a poor equaliser, when Ashley Young’s low, pacy cross was allowed to bounce through the crowded penalty area and past the unsighted goalkeeper Brian Jensen, the visitors appeared to regroup well. The second half began in the same fashion, at least until dozy defending of a throw-in allowed Young to speed down the left, before pulling the ball back for Stewart Downing to collect in the Burnley penalty area. The former…
