The glass core in a fibre optic cable has a maximum bend radius, if you try to make a tighter bend it shall snap/buckle just like a large circular pipe would. Also as the light is fired down this core it bounces off the sides until it reached the end of the core, if the bend radius is too tight it will give additional losses in the information being sent.

Bottom line, the people who have provided modern science with it equations, formulas and principles, not to mention endless sets of data, have all done so though human process and method. There is no tech alternative to hands on scientific experience in a child’s development which should start as early as possible. Science is a method, technology is a tool. Neither of which should be a barrier to learning.

An international team, led by astronomers at the University of Hertfordshire have discovered what may be the coolest sub-stellar body ever found outside our own solar system. Using the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) in Hawaii, a discovery has been made of an object which is technically known as a brown dwarf.

Over the years we’ve discussed the possible health risks of cellphone and other microwave radiation: studies from Israel and Sweden indicating a link between cellphone use and cancer, one from England exonerating cell towers as a cause of “microwave radiation sensitivity,” and a recent 30-year Swedish study that found no link to cancer. The question won’t go away though. Reader Artifice_Eternity writes “I’ve always tended to dismiss claims of toxicity from cell phone and Wi-Fi signals as reflecting ignorance about microwave radiation. However, this GQ article cites American and European studies going back decades that have found some level of biological harm caused by these signals. Why haven’t they gained more attention? Quoting: ‘Industry-funded studies seem to reflect the result of corporate strong-arming. Lai reviewed 350 studies and found that about half showed bioeffects from EM radiation emitted by cell phones. But when he took into consideration the funding sources for those…

Sigma makes an 18-250mm lens – 13.9X zoom factor.
As fhotoace said, however, you'll likely want a couple of prime (fixed focal length) lenses like a 50mm f1.4 or 10mm f2.8.

This sounds like homework. You might try Googling "adaptive plant life span ", "survival strategies perennial plants", and like entries. You won't benefit if we do it for you, but you'll gain researching skills if you do it yourself, as well as the answer to your question. Good luck!
In $500 you wont get a good telescope fore astrophotography
Optics – is the branch of physics dealing with light. More specificially visible light.
Optics is further divided into 2 sub-sections: Geometrical Optics, and Physical Optics.
Geometrical Optics is all about how light reflect or bends due to Mirrors Lenses and Prisms. How light travels in a straight line, until it changes media (with different refractive index)
The equations are: i = r
and n1sini = n2sinr <—Snell's law
n1= refractive index of media 1 (from)
n2 = refractive index of media 2 (to)
i = angle of incidence
r = angle of reflection/refraction.
(all angles are measured from the beam to the NORMAL to the surface).
Physical Optics – deals with the way light 'bends' around edges or corners. It deals more with the wave nature of light (like water waves, bending and forming again around a wall or ship). It deals with difraction, destructive and constructive interference of light.
Look up Young's double slit experiments… and single slit experiments..
Hope this helped.
DSL is carried by an electrical signal over phone lines; you have a limited bandwidth because of the way signals are encoded into electrical current.
Fibre optics work by having a special "tunnel" that keeps light coherent down the length of the fibre. Since there are many different wavelengths of light (infinity of them, actually), the only limit on the number you can send at the same time is your capacity to pick them apart – if they're too similar, you can have problems.
This means that a single thread of fibre can carry dozens or hundreds of signals simultaneously, whereas a copper cable can only carry a handful. You can imagine which is faster.
For more detail, see:

You might try first to see if the have a live broadcast on their Internet website. At least that way you can listen in the house and at work. After that, the only way to get it in your car is if your old station has a satellite link-up with one of the services. Very few do though right now. You just can't push a FM signal that kind of distance from North to South California unfortunately.
