If you have a SLR or DSLR camera and other maker/mount lenses, the Fotodiox Mount Adapters allow you to use your lenses on the film/digital camera body. Sharing lenses has some distinct advantages. Certain prime lens just cant be replaced, and you save cost of purchase lenses. Fotodiox offers a range of adapter from large format to smaller format digital adapters. Adapting larger format lens, i.e., large format medium format, medium format 35mm, excellent edge-to-edge sharpness; and the smaller 24x36 mm image field helps minimize the effects of lens distortion and aberration.

Since you are limited to AF-s lenses the best inexpensive lens is the 55-200 or the 55-200 VR.
It probably is a wire lose inside the insulation at the plug. But it maybe the plug inside your lap top it is soldered into the mother board and if jerked out or twisted it can break loose. You should take both the lap top and A/C charger in to a computer store repair center and have checked as to not have one of them short out.

That's a problem with the camera, not the lens. You can just manually focus the lens. You might want to buy a newer camera (i.e D40, D80).
Get one with Image stabilization. The best camera I have seen cheap is the kodak v570 it's awesome. You can find them on ebay. See actual high speed video below where the guy uses it on his motorcycle.

When you are reviewing a vertical shot, it shows you the vertical shot. The black around it is not permanent, it's just empty space. It is not a boarder. Your landscape photographs don't have this ' boarder ' because they are horizontal shots, and the whole screen is taken up reviewing them. When you upload them you won't see a ' boarder '.
Before long, the camears you use will be so small, we won't even be able to see them.
Well I don't think the holder matter. What really matter will be the filter it can hold. Because the important one in the end is the filter rather then the holder.
If fotodiox holder can fit any Cokin P and cost less expensive I think you can try it.

I have had mine since December 2007. I got the D200 in January 2006, so I used that for almost two years before getting the D300. As great as the D200 is, the D300 is a phenomenal improvement. The D300 is now $500 more than the D200 and I would say that it is worth every penny of that.
You can read reviews everywhere by now, but the major difference is obviously the switch to the CMOS sensor and the new Expeed processor. Both are great moves for Nikon. The camera has excellent image quality, exceptional low-light performance, and very fast auto-focus. It has many features that make it easier to use faster than the D200. Live view is not something that you will use the same way it is used in a point and shoot camera, but when it is appropriate, it is a major enhancement. I appreciate the ability to show the top LCD info on the reaer LCD. It's much larger and easier to see. If the camera is on a tripod, this feature along with live view really make your life easier. There is an in-camera dynamic range booster called "Active D-Lighting" that helps with unevenly lit subjects and scenes. It's not the same as shooting HDR, but it is a step in that direction. I could go on for an hour about all the features, but it has a 400 page user manual! That tells you something.

I must say that I have not read a bad review on the D300 yet. Practically the only complaint I've read is that it is so hard to find something to complain about!

To sum up the two answers above… don't do it! Adapting down that much will give you terrible vignetting, enough to severely compromise the look of the fish eye effect you are seeking. Either get a lens with a 58mm thread, or much better, get a TRUE fish eye lens rather than a cheap, poor substitute adaptor.
